WATCH: This under the radar factory churns out 650,000 mooncakes yearly for restaurants

You’ve probably snacked on your fair share of mooncakes over the past few weeks, and who can blame you? These baked goods have been popping up at fairs in malls across the island.

But here’s a little-known fact about mooncakes: Many of them actually come from Lao Zi Hao, a factory in the East that produces more than 650,000 pieces every year for some of the top hotels and restaurants in Singapore since its establishment in 2010. And in the weeks leading up to the Mid-Autumn Festival, the city’s biggest mooncake supplier churns out 20,000 per day.
