Like we’ve reported earlier this month, multiple-award-winning actress Jessica Chastain had a complete ball of a time when she dropped by Singapore to promote a meh film she starred in.
Though she’s played strong female characters in Zero Dark Thirty, A Most Violent Year and more, she proved to be a badass in real life as well when she said that she’s a fan of the king of fruits: the contentious durian.
Calling it the “blue cheese of fruit”, she developed her penchant for the notoriously foul-smelling fruit when she spent four months in Thailand a decade ago. In a first for Hollywood, someone brought Singapore’s unofficial national fruit to light on Jimmy Kimmel Live — and it was none other than durian ambassador Jessica Chastain who did it. Kimmel himself tried it for the first time (actually, Chastain kinda forced it on him), to which he said “It’s kinda on the line between horrible and delicious”.
