We’re mad hyped about upcoming chicken rice joint Makcik Chicken, thanks to its on point marketing

Yes, yes, it’s bad to get fired up over something that doesn’t even exist yet, but we just have to point out that this upcoming chicken rice place is really, really good at working up its pre-launch hype (and our appetites).

Makcik Chicken is ready to debut its anticipated chicken rice dish this month at the Sultan Mosque Ramadan Bazaar for the entire fasting period. In preparation of its launch on May 26, it got a freakin’ drone to shoot a promo that features a single, nicely packaged chicken rice takeaway. Effort, much?

But of course, it’s the contents that really matter (although the branding really is well done), and Makcik Chicken offered a glimpse of that on its Facebook page. Japanese fragrant rice, ginger and garlic-infused chicken thigh, a Hanjuku egg and a “triple threat” of sauces. Damn, son.

For those unable to drop by the bazaar during the Ramadan month, fret not. Makcik Chicken’s kitchen (try saying that quickly a few times) at 77 Aliwal Street will be taking in walk-in orders and have their menu available on UberEATS, foodpanda and Deliveroo after the bazaar ends on 22nd June. Till then, they’ll start taking orders and deliveries via phone (+65 8750 4121) and their social media channels.
