Last November, we went gaga when McDonald’s started selling truffle fries — which turned out to be, sigh, just your ordinary French fries served with a sachet of truffle powder. We’re hoping that the product they launched today makes up for last year’s disappointment.
The fancy-sounding Breaded Salmon with Paella Spice Mix burger (BSPSM burger sounds cooler) has a patty made of wild salmon chunks from Hokkaido flavoured with diced red and yellow capsicums and diced cheese. It’s served in a bun topped topped with oat flakes, linseeds, rye flakes and sunflower seeds. Sounds good so far?
Apparently, this is what Singaporeans have been craving.
McDonald’s claims “customers have told us they want a greater variety of taste, textures and flavours.”
In the next few months, it says, more new items “inspired by insights from public feedback, focus group discussions and market research” will be introduced. Who are these customers, we sure would like to meet them!
Breaded Salmon with Paella Spice Mix Extra Value Meal, $7.50.
