This tiny new coffee shop is a hideaway in shipping container art space Deck

Quarter Life Coffee has been roasting beans in Singapore for a while now, teaming up with other local names at pop-ups here and there, but now it finally has a proper place to call home. Small as it is, the space is a cozy one inside cafe/bar Bunkerbunker at Deck, the hip art gallery along Prinsep Street that stands out for its creatively arranged, black-hued shipping containers.

Unless you’re in-the-know, you may walk past the unassuming, industrial-looking structure without realizing you can get your shot of caffeine in there.

It’s been open since the start of this month, and the interior is an eclectic mishmash of furnishings, potted plants, and random knick knacks. The menu serves single-origin coffees, eschewing blends so as to allow the beans from each region to come into full flavor on their own.

You can get espresso, cold brew, black, or white coffee (from $3.50), or even order the “Ground Zero” to brew a cup yourself — with a little help from the baristas if you need it, of course. Swiss roll bakery The Plain Jane also supplies its goods in flavors like hazelnut and matcha to go with the drinks.

It’s probably not the kind of place where you’ll linger for long, but it is handy to know there’s a coffee joint here if ever you’re in the neighborhood and in desperate need of a pick-me-up.
