A much-talked-about baker is taking her business to the next level by moving out of her home and into her first physical bakery in Ang Mo Kio.

Famously known for her stuffed bomboloni and chocolatey brownies, Ariel Tang, 24, owner of The Fat Kid Bakery, opened her first outlet after successfully gaining an online reputation just a year into her home business.

The self-taught baker picked up the skill a decade ago and has since been creating signature bakes such as sourdough bread, croissants, and eclairs. Those with a sweet tooth can now purchase and smell them in person.

The most popular item that baked up a storm online is the Sourdough Bombos (from S$3.50), an Italian filled doughnut made with sourdough that was fermented over three days. They come in flavors like chocolate, roasted oolong, mango, and blueberry cheesecake.

Goodies on offer also include Tang’s Triple Chocolate Brownies (S$15 for about 350g), Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies (S$12 for about 200g), and Eclairs (from S$25 for a box of 10) filled with chocolate, calamansi meringue, or vanilla cream. There are also the Sourdough Loaf (S$12), Milk Loaf (S$8), and French Butter Croissants (from S$4).

All bakes are available for pre-orders and takeaways.
