It’s been quite the exciting year for our bubble tea scene, with so many newcomers that we’ve lost track of ’em all. But hey, you can never have too much of a good thing. Which is why bubble tea devotees across the island will probably be pretty chuffed about Taiwan’s famous Tiger Sugar coming to our shores next month.

The details aren’t clear yet, but we do know that it’ll arrive in November, and it’ll be located somewhere in the City Hall area. Perfect for attracting crowds of locals and tourists alike (groan).

Most well-known for its insanely popular boba fresh milk — which is basically brown sugar pearls with milk — the chain has seen snaking lines at its outlets in Taiwan and Hong Kong, so we’d expect no less here. At least for the first couple weeks (or months, depending on what level of fanaticism the fans reach).

But to be honest, seeing as how we’ve only recently tried brown sugar boba milk (from another brand) for the first time, the seemingly basic beverage was actually pretty good, dammit. We didn’t want to love it, yet it won us over immediately. The drink should get a warning label for addiction. So if you’ve never sampled the concoction, we say, proceed with caution.
