STOP EVERYTHING: There’s a month-long oyster festival happening in Singapore

Never mind the naysayers. Even if you don’t believe in the alleged libido-boosting abilities of oysters, we can call agree that they’re pretty tasty.

From June 23 to July 27 at Greenwood Fish Market & Bistro, you’ll be able to slurp down 21 different varieties of the mollusc from France, Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand.

From sweet and creamy to briny, from flavours of melon and cucumber to hints of flint, you won’t get a better education on oysters anywhere else in town.

A full rundown: Golden Mantle, Mary Points, Chef Creek and Coromandel Bay are priced at $4 each. Coffin Bay, Sydney Rock and Fine de Claire are $4.50. Malpeque, Well Fleets, Saddle Rock, Fanny Bay and Queens Choice go for $5. Blue Points, Blue Yonders Duxbury, Fine de Claire Special and Tauton Bay cost $6 a piece while Kumamotos are $6.50. Baron Points, Tsarskaya and Irish Rock are $7 and Belon “OOO” rounds off the list at $8.
