Gourmands, if you like your Italian cuisine a little more bona fide and stays true to its roots, then you’d know that Sopra Cucina’s the best place to get your fix of rustic gourmet nosh. It’s pretty much one of the few places in Singapore where you can taste the authentic flavours of Sardinia, Naples, Sicily, Milan and more.
Fans and connoisseurs should thus be thrilled to know that Sopra has unveiled their newly revamped menu that showcases even more future classics, as well as re-introducing their highly demanded signature dishes.

Bear witness to their crowd favourite Porcheddu Sardo ($48), a traditional Sardinian roast suckling pig thats seasoned with sea salt and Mediterranean herbs, crisp to the bite and dissolves in rich smoky flavour upon chewing. Their fluffily-crusted Pizza Sopra ($28/38/67) is another must-have, crafted tenderly with parma ham, fresh tomato, arugala and parmesan, and baked to alluring perfection in their newly acquired top-of-the-line Italian oven. Not to forget their Polpo alla Carlofortina ($20), a much loved appetizer featuring the freshest slow-cooked octopus incorporated with diced celery olives, basil, olives and pine nuts.

The brightest star of their revamped menu however has to be their homemade Biscotto di Pecorino ($22), a superbly piquant meal best served and eaten straight out of the oven. The traditional Sardinian flatbread pane carasau crisply envelops the molten pecorino cheese (imported directly from Italy!) and gets generously drizzled with honey. It’s the closest experience you can get to a seat in your Nonna’s home in Italy.
Where can you find this little slice of Sardinian heaven? Sopra Cucina & Bar’s tucked right behind Orchard Towers at 10 Claymore Road at Pan Pacific Ochard, open 5pm to midnight on Mondays and 11.30am till midnight all other days. Check ’em out on their official website and Facebook page.
