Sometimes you just want a hearty home-cooked meal of your favorite comfort foods — especially if you’re caught up in the middle of a hectic day with no end in sight to the piles of work on your desk. Enter YummyBank, the newly-launched local app that connects home cooks and household recipes (and the occasional F&B industry veteran) with people who either possess zero kitchen skills or don’t have time to whip up a meal. Prices range from $8 to $14, and you can pick from two options: YummyLunch or YummyChef.
For those working in the CBD area, the YummyLunch menu caters to you, with three to five meal choices that change every weekday from Monday to Friday. Just so you have an idea of what types of dishes to expect, items on the menu include pan-seared miso salmon with quinoa, slow-cooked beef stew with rice, and Thai spiced basil rice. Orders can be picked up from collection points such as Asia Square Tower 1, One Raffles Quay and UOB Plaza.
As for the YummyChef menu option, you get to browse through a wider selection of homemade dishes, from beef rendang and Nyonya chicken curry to claypot black pepper prawn tang hoon and fried bee hoon. Since there aren’t any collection points for this, you’ll have to meet up with the chef or opt for a delivery to get your food.
And if you’re an amateur home chef who aspires to spread your gospel of good food, sign up with the app to become a YummyChef and cook at your own convenience (for extra cash).
YummyBank is available for both iOS and Android devices for free.
