The days of begging your Japan-bound buddies to bring back goodies from popular Japanese cookie brands Yoku Moku and Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory are over. The former is opening its flagship shop at Ion Orchard in January 2018, while the latter is already serving the crowds at Raffles City.

But before we ring in the new year, you can still get buttery thin sable cookies and cigar rolls from Yoku Moku at pop-up stores in Ion and Takashimaya. Their signature “Cigares” come in three flavors — original ($16/10 pieces), Darjeeling and Earl Grey tea-infused ($17/8 pieces), and milk chocolate ($19/8 pieces) — and you can get ’em all in the Trois Cigare box of 33 for $73.

Well, obviously, they don’t come cheap. Even though these delicacies look kinda like love letter biscuit rolls, each piece alone will set you back at least $1.60.

Nevertheless, if you’re willing to spend on sweet treats, the brand also sells Billet Au Chocolat Au Lait ($16/12 piece), which are thin butter-vanilla cookies, and Pleine Lune ($31/16 pieces), which are shortbread cookies with almonds and a milk chocolate base. And yes, they’re equally as expensive. We’ll leave it to you to decide if they’re worth the pretty penny.
