This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival just got interesting with the introduction of Oreo mooncakes, now available at selected NTUC FairPrice outlets. You may not be a fan of mooncakes (although we’ve sussed out some unusual ones), but slap an Oreo stamp on them and they instantly become that much more intriguing.

Apparently a seasonal offering by the brand in several Asian countries — including Thailand and China — this new product has these little slabs of sweetness coming in four different flavors: brownie chocolate, custard and pineapple-flavored jam, double chocolate with milk, and strawberry jam.

The gift box of six is available at selected FairPrice outlets at $29.90, or you can just save yourself the hassle of scouring the island and buy it online, where it’s on promo for $26.90.

Obviously, these mooncakes are a lot bigger than your standard Oreo cookie. But they don’t exactly taste like the snack either, from what we’ve heard. Perhaps you’ll have to dunk a slice in milk (instead of pairing it with tea) to get the authentic Oreo experience.
