If you constantly find yourself staring into the abyss of your empty bank account, here’s a dining deal that could possibly cheer you up. Local eatery 49 Seats, which has recently consolidated all its outlets into one new industrial-style restaurant at The Centrepoint, is offering hungry customers $4.90 pastas for lunch and dinner from now till July 22.
Unfortunately, it isn’t an all-day type of promo. For the cafe obsessed with the number 49 — it started out at 49 Kreta Ayer Road with 49 seats, and its new unit number is #01-49, with 149 seats in the space — only the first 49 plates of pasta served up during lunch and dinner daily will get the discount. By the time the 50th order rolls around, you’ll get a 20 percent discount instead.
For those unsure of what to try, signature dishes include tom yum seafood pasta ($14.90), fish and chips with al scampi or tom yum sauce ($16.90) and creamy smoked duck pasta ($14.90).
