Here is a man after our own fried chicken-loving heart. Fans of KFC’s Hot Devil Drumlets, y’all have Farhan Adam Borst to thank for their long-awaited return to outlets islandwide.
Having last set fire to our taste buds in 2014, the satisfyingly spicy drumlets may be minuscule in size, but they pack a solid firecracker of a flavor. But being a limited offer, they did not hold permanent court in KFC’s menu (despite being a cult favourite — there’s even a Facebook fan page for it) and Singapore went without its hot as hell chicken chunks for years.
That is, till today, courtesy of one relentless Hot Devil Drumlets superfan who’s been beseeching the good Colonel to bring back the hellfire. How persistent? Well, just take a gander at the archive of his shoutouts to KFC Singapore on Twitter.

After months of hell-bent appeals, Borst got exactly what he wanted — the return of the Hot Devil Drumlets. To add an extra layer of seasoning on the good news, KFC Singapore made sure he was the first to know by reaching out to him on Instagram, and even promised to deliver a care package to him before other customers. Huzzah!
Speaking to Coconuts Singapore, the fried chicken devotee mentioned that his love for Hot Devil Drumlets is “indescribable” and can be traced back to when he was young.
“It’s food that triggers memories from my childhood… the first time I had it was when I was like 12 years old,” Borst said.
“My brother and I would always get it after school — a whole bucket just for us, and we were little dudes.”
He started tweeting at KFC Singapore just to troll ’em and have some fun, but didn’t expect much to come out of it. After all, it has been years since the fast food chain has had the drumlets on the menu — so when KFC hit him up, he was caught off guard.
For now, Borst will just have to wait for KFC to contact him to get his particulars for the very special delivery.
“To be honest, I don’t mind if they didn’t send it — I’m just damn pumped it’s back.”
This man… this man gets it.
