One-of-a-kind dessert carnival Fantasìa by Escribà confirmed for August

Fantasìa by Escribà, touted as the “world’s first confection theatre extravaganza” and the result of a collaboration between Spanish pastry chef Christian Escribà and his wife Patricia Schmidt, has been confirmed to run from August 22 — 24 at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre.

Originally scheduled to happen in June, the three-day event was postponed to allow for a fresher lineup.

And what a lineup it is.

In addition to reserving an opening session for the less privileged and senior citizens, Fantasìa by Escribà will also have a special late-night segment, which promises to be “a little bit more risque” than the others. Midnight @ Fantasìa ($188) will open at 10:30pm on August 23 and will last through 2am. Entertainers known as The Comediants and music DJs will stir a bit of spice into the halls, after which true creatures of the night only need to present their tickets for free entry into posh Marina Bay Sands club Pangaea.

Love brunch? The Longest Brunch @ Fantasìa ($88 – 128) will be held from 11am on August 24, and will of course feature a dessert buffet filled with Christian and Patricia’s delectable creations. A free flow alcoholic drink option is available.

There’ll also be master classes ($188 per class per person) working with yummies like chocolate, pastry and sugar, happening throughout the entire Fantasìa by Escribà weekend.

Tickets — or passports as the organiser’s calling them — for regular showcases will set you back $88 – 128 per person, with an early bird promotion happening through the end of June.

For information on bundle packages and event slots, visit the Fantasìa by Escribà website, or go to their Eventclique page to get your ‘passports’.
