A famed Chinese hotpot chain has called in robotic reinforcements to help get food out more efficiently.
In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Haidilao has opened its first smart outlet in Northshore Plaza that has robot arms lined up and ready to dish out orders.
The robots are housed in the outlet’s cold food room where they will automatically pick out ingredients preprepared on a plate when orders kick in. The temperatures are kept at 0 to 4 degrees to maintain the freshness of the ingredients. Every dish is double-checked at the sorting area by human staff before being sent out.
Other technological upgrades include a large screen display of the brand’s robot mascots dancing with the robotic arms, an automatic soup machine that can customize to one’s picky preference and roving robot waiters.
The chain previously introduced a more immersive dining experience using sound and light for customers at their Marina Square outlet in 2019.
From now till Dec. 4, the chain will be featuring two exclusive dishes weekly priced at S$10 each (worth up to S$28) at all outlets. Guests can expect dishes like their Signature Mashed Prawn Paste, Haidilao Flavored Beef and Pork Belly Rolls, among others.
Fun fact: Every Haidilao outlet has a slope at the entrance to make way for its patented exhaust system that siphons away the smoke and hotpot odors.
