Time to make a reservation at Odette if you haven’t already. Julien Royer’s two Michelin-starred French restaurant at National Gallery Singapore just claimed the title of Best Restaurant in Singapore and rose four spots to take fifth place on this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Just last year, it made its debut at ninth position.

Also repping Singapore were these six restaurants: Burnt Ends (#12), Waku Ghin (#23), Les Amis (#29), Corner House (#36), Jaan (#44), and new addition Whitegrass (#50). With the exception of Whitegrass, the rest all dropped in rank, from two spots (Burnt Ends and Jaan) to 13 spots (Les Amis and Corner House).
As for the top ten, coming in second to Gaggan was Den in Tokyo, followed by Florilège in Tokyo and Sühring in Bangkok at third and fourth place. After Odette, Tokyo’s Narisawa took sixth spot, trailed by Hong Kong’s Amber, Shanghai’s Ultraviolet by Paul Pairet, Nihonryori RyuGin in Tokyo, and Nahm in Bangkok.
Elsewhere on the list, which featured eight new entries, 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo Bombana in Hong Kong came in at 13th position, Andre Chiang’s Raw took 15th spot followed by Ta Vie in Hong Kong, and Bali’s Locavore made it to 21st place.
