Obsess over everything chocolate at Antoinette — from macaron burgers to bacon to ravioli

We can’t even begin to describe our love for chocolate. Okay… it’s more like a love-hate relationship, because too much of a good thing is, you know, not super ideal. But damn if anyone thinks they’re gonna stop us from stuffing our faces at Antoinette over the next two months.

For the second instalment of the patisserie’s Fetish Campaign (the first one fed into our obsession with matcha), Chef Pang decided to make chocolate the star. So we’ve got him to thank for the special 23-item menu crafted with white and dark Valrhona chocolate. But don’t be fooled into thinking all of them are sweet — sure, you’ve got your usual round-up of cakes and pastries, but he’s also thrown in a couple unexpected savoury plates.

Intrigued yet? Here’s the lowdown on some of the more unique offerings.

Chocolate ravioli, $22

Filled with wild mushroom ragout, these ravioli squares with a hint of chocolate swim in a light sausage cream sauce.

Roasted carrot salad, $18

It’s a colourful, summery mix of carrots, strawberries, feta cream, capers, serrano ham, quinoa and broccoli florets drizzled with balsamic and dark chocolate dressing.

Braised Wagyu brisket, $30

Tender chunks of beef enveloped in mustard and dark chocolate cosy up to buttered pappardelle in this pasta plate. If you’re keen on ordering all three dishes above, you can get the three-course set for $43, or swap out the beef for sous vide salmon with shaved fennel, apple salad, potato purée and white chocolate hollandaise sauce for $38.

Crispy bacon, $15

Deep fried bacon drenched from top to bottom in dark chocolate — is this real life?

White chocolate matcha, $12

If you love chocolate and matcha, this one’s the best of both worlds. Plus it’s got smoked macadamia nuts for added crunch.

4 chocolate with 4 tea, $2.50 per piece

Each little chocolate bonbon is infused with tea flavours like lapsang souchong, Earl Grey, assam and jasmine.

Macaron burger, $12

Okay, so it’s not technically a burger, but it sure does a great job pretending to be one. Dig into this sweet treat made of chocolate macaron, chocolate ganache (patty), apricot (cheese), raspberry (ketchup), salted caramel cream (mustard) and white chocolate (lettuce). Sneaky, this one.

Invader Inside, $15

These quirky, alien-like blocks boast 10 textures of chocolate in one bite, including chocolate almond crumble, chocolate popping candy and almond hazelnut chocolate feuilletine.

Hot chocolate yuzu, $9

The mug of fruity hot chocolate is padded with a marshmallow cloud on the side. All together now, it’s so fluffy!

Hot chocolate Earl Grey, $9

Last but certainly not least, this steaming cuppa with floating croissant croutons. Yeah, you better not be on a diet when you enter Antoinette’s doors.

Fetish Chocolat is on from now till the end of October at Antoinette, 30 Penhas Rd. A dollar for every order of Chocolat items (not including Chocoron, 4 Chocolate with 4 Tea and Almond Butter Rusk) will be donated to the Singapore Children’s Society OCBC-TODAY Children’s Fund, ‘Food for Dreams’.
