O Mamma Mia is the new Italian eatery in town, and it serves up affordable pastas and pizzas by the slice

The pizza selection

Pizzas and pastas are part of a staple diet for any carb-lover, and O Mamma Mia, with its three outlets across the island, is well aware of that. So if you’re ever craving a cheesy slice or a carb-laden bowl, choose the Italian eatery’s branch nearest to you for an affordable meal.

From the same company that brought froyo fanatics in Singapore llaollao, O Mamma Mia is a casual concept that’s chosen our Little Red Dot as the first overseas pitstop from its country of origin, Spain.

5 Terre pizza

With ingredients like cheeses, Boletus mushrooms and Italian tomatoes imported from Italy, the chain restaurant serves up pizzas with sauces handmade from scratch and dough shipped from Italy. But don’t expect to walk away with whole pies to feed your family — pizzas here are only sold by the slice, which means you can pick and choose a couple different flavors so your tastebuds won’t get bored halfway through the meal.

Nutella pizza

Slices range from $3.50 to $4.20, with options like the highly-recommended ‘5 Terre’ of Boletus mushrooms, pesto sauce, tomatoes, and a heap of parmesan and mozzarella, as well as the ‘Rucula Speck Provolone’ with dry-cured, lightly smoked Italiam ham topped with provolone, parmesan, mozzarella and arugula. Oh, and those with a sweet tooth can try the ‘Pizza Nutella’, which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like — pizza crust slathered with dollops of Nutella and covered with banana slices.

Bowls of pasta

As for pastas ($7.90-$8.20), you get five sauces and five pasta types to choose from, so you can go with any combination from pesto tagliatelle to 4 cheese gnocchi to bolognese bigoli.

O Mamma Mia has three outlets, including #01-K04 Causeway Point, daily 11.30am-10.30pm and #01-11 The Clementi Mall, daily noon-10pm. The Changi City Point branch will open in May.
