If you’ve passed by the basement food stalls of Raffles City Shopping Centre anytime over the last couple weeks, you might’ve done a double take when you glimpsed the Beverly Hills Cheesecake signboard sporting, in smaller text, “desserts from The Cheesecake Factory Bakery.” As in the famous restaurant and dessert chain from the US (which also operates in Coco cities Bangkok and Hong Kong).

8 Days reported that the business is a “master distributor” of the well-known brand’s treats in Singapore, and it’s looking to bring the cakes to supermarket chains such as NTUC FairPrice in the future. No word on the reason behind the different name though.

Still, the cheesecake enthusiast in us leapt with joy, as did many others across the island, judging by the snaking queues that’ve formed since the takeaway kiosk debuted with opening discounts earlier this week. But that’s pretty standard for hyped-up new openings in Singapore. So if you can wait it out, your patience will be rewarded in a couple months (maybe weeks?), when the lines die down.

In the meantime, here’s a quick look at the menu.
