Remember all that hoo-ha over Singapore’s first vending machine cafe that opened in Sengkang? Well, if you don’t live anywhere near the North-East part of the island, you probably didn’t bother popping by — unless your curiosity got the better of you. Anyway, two more vending machine cafes have since sprouted up — and this time, both are a little more accessibly located at MRT stations: One at Ang Mo Kio, and the other at Lakeside.
Hailed as Singapore’s first vending machine cafes in MRT stations (such a specific honor), Chef-in-Box VendCafé serves up a pretty affordable range of cuisines, including Chinese, Western, Malay, Indian, Thai, Japanese, Spanish and Italian.
With this launch, the cafe is also offering 10 new dishes ($4-$5.90), including fried carrot cake, Thai green curry chicken, and paella — these plates will be part of a menu selection that features more than 90 food and drink options. Other plates to try include nasi lemak, onigiri, and black pepper salmon.

Chef-in-Box VendCafé is at #01-01 Ang Mo Kio MRT and #01-06 Lakeside MRT. Daily 7am-11pm.
