Nibble on strawberry eyeballs, ‘bloody’ raspberry scones and freaky treats at this afternoon tea

Inject a little mystery and enchantment into your afternoon tea experience at Axis Bar and Lounge, where a Halloween-themed selection of treats awaits this month. Think worms coconut pandan ice jelly, witches’ blend gazpacho and ‘bloody’ raspberry scones to start with. Of course, you’ve got the regular light bites like smoked duck tartlet, truffled chicken sandwich and pumpkin with raisin pie, but they’re all made out to look a little scarier than usual, just to stick with the theme.

For dessert, there’s the freaky medley of horror night sesame choux, eyeball Mara Des Bois, RIP cocoa soil and more. Okay, so they’re cuter than they are creepy. But that just means you can stomach them without breaking out into a sweat — like you would at the annual horror nights at USS (those are reserved only for the brave).

The usual range of TWG teas — from Earl Grey chocolate and passion fruit black tea to green tea with chamomile — are available to pair with your meal.

Halloween Afternoon Tea is on from now till Oct 31, daily 3pm-5pm, weekends 12.30pm-2.30pm at Axis Bar and Lounge, Mandarin Oriental, Singapore. $42/person, $80/two.
