The next time you’re in the mood for midnight munchies, call upon the good folks at Porterfetch to help you out. The brave new homegrown startup, which is entering an industry dominated by the likes of Deliveroo, UberEats and Foodpanda, understands full well Singaporeans’ insatiable appetite for cheap and good local food — even in the wee hours of the morning.
Its name is basically self-explanatory — the team of porters are on hand from 9pm to 3am every night to fetch you whatever you want, wherever you are.

With decent range of cuisines, the platform features popular establishments such as Boon Tong Kee, Ponggol Nasi Lemak, Beach Road Scissor Cut Curry Rice and Swee Choon Tim Sum. Of course, you can also get fast food from Burger King and Mos Burger or hit up your favorite franchises like Starbucks, Tim Ho Wan, Chicken Up and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for late night bites (or a boost of caffeine).
Desserts from the likes of Udders, 2am: dessertbar, Salted Caramel, Rochor Beancurd House and Ah Chew Desserts are available as well, although your ice cream order may or may not arrive half-melted if you live at the far ends of the island.

But the best part of it all is that Porterfetch will deliver food from any of these eateries to your neighborhood — no matter where you live. That means you won’t have to be confined to the same old cafes in your vicinity whenever you’re feeling hungry yet lazy to leave the house. It also means you won’t even have to wait in line at Swee Choon to get your dim sum fix.
If you think that sounds too good to be true, well, bear in mind that the delivery fee is based on distance and starts at $5. Even though there’s no minimum order, you’ll get a nine percent service fee added to your total bill — but we’d say that’s well worth the convenience of not having to move a muscle to satisfy your midnight cravings. Porterfetch only has a website for now, but no worries, it’s working on launching an app soon.
