This new Clarke Quay spot is a mix of riverside restaurant, club lounge and al fresco bar

The newest kid on the Clarke Quay block is VLV, a 20,000 sq ft venue that houses a modern Chinese restaurant, riverfront dining area, club lounge and al fresco courtyard bar in an 1880s historic building. Why so many concepts in one space, you ask? All the better to draw diners and party-goers away from its surrounding competitors.

But don’t push VLV into the same box as many of the other bars and clubs in Clarke Quay — while the rest are packed with casual vibes that make for great chillin’, VLV aims to provide a more luxe and sophisticated experience.

And with numerous concepts in one building, there’s a low chance you’ll get bored while spending an evening there. At the grand Chinese restaurant, you’ll find more than 60 traditional Cantonese delicacies served with a modern twist. After you’re done with dinner, party it up at the elegant club lounge that comes fitted with cushy leather VIP booths and a dance floor in the middle. Then if you need a breather amidst all that grooving and head bopping, step out into the outdoor bar for a cocktail or two.

VLV is at #01-02, 3A Merchant’s Court, River Valley Rd, 6661-0197. Restaurant noon-3pm, 6pm-11pm; club lounge 6pm-3am; courtyard noon-3am; riverside 5.30pm-11pm, 11pm-3am.
