There’s a new two-faced restaurant in town, and it’s none other than the cheekily-named Jin Ho Mia, which means “a really good life” in Hokkien. (Hopefully, it lives up to its name and serves up really good food.)

By day, the 80-seater offers fuss-free rice bowl ($13.80-$14.80) and salad ($11.80) sets — options include Tom Yum Pao Fan, Salmon Poké Bowl, Salad Bibimbap, Beef Bulgogi Bowl and Smoked Duck Bowl — for the working crowd.

But as soon as the sun sets, the restaurant switches things up by going full steam ahead into hot pot territory, with broth flavors such as tom yum, chicken, tomato, fish and even cheese. You can choose from three variations of hot pots, including the proudly named Tok Kong Pot ($48.80) — tok kong means “superb” in Hokkien. This dish satiates your seafood cravings with Alaskan king crabs, tiger prawns and flower clams.

If you’re after a protein punch, try the Ah Boy Pot ($33.80) of pork balls, bacon, lobster balls, sausages, meatballs, roasted pork and luncheon meat — P.S. the set comes at a promo price of $28.80 to celebrate the eatery’s official opening. Alternatively, you can always go for the Giam Pui (diet) Pot ($28.80) for servings of veggies, tofu and mushroom.

The menu also offers sides like ngoh hiang ($9.80) and prawn omelette ($9.80) to keep those hangry feelings at bay while you wait for your hot pot to boil.

Jin Ho Mia is at #02-20, 460 Alexandra Rd, 6352-7725. Mon-Fri 11.30am-3.30pm & 5.30pm-10pm, Sat-Sun 11.30am-10pm.
