MuYoo is the newest (and apparently healthier) cheese tea and fruit tea brand in Singapore

With the ridiculous (to us, anyway) recent trend of cheese teas — basically cheese froth atop any tea or fruit blend — making waves in the region and beyond, it’s no surprise that most bubble tea places in Singapore have jumped on the bandwagon.

As if we don’t have enough options already, here’s another newcomer to the local cheesy tea scene: MuYoo. Launched by a Singaporean duo, and inspired by its Shanghai-based namesake, the brand claims to have a healthier version of cheese tea compared to, well, everyone else.

Its signature “Cheese Cloud,” that creamy, frothy crown atop the tea, is apparently whipped up with a mixture of “naturally derived milk powder” from New Zealand, cheese powder from Holland, and sea salt from Bolivia. This is what makes their cheese tea different, they say, since the other brands usually use creamer, which is full of trans fat and artificial flavoring.

You can get that “Cheese Cloud” as an add-on to standard cold-brewed teas like roasted oolong ($3.50-$3.90) and lapsang souchong ($3.90-$4.50).

The cheese and fruit tea combination here is surprisingly refreshing and light, with fresh fruit options like watermelon ($3.90), white grape ($4.90), peach ($5.50), or banana and cherry tomato ($4.50). Unfortunately, these only come in large (which is indeed rather generously sized) — just so you know what you’re getting yourself into before you fill up ahead of your next meal.

There’s also the “Rose Cloud,” what MuYoo calls its frothy bandung-flavored topping — it pairs pretty well with watermelon juice.

Besides cheese cloud fruit teas, the menu also offers regular fruit teas (from $3.50), smoothies (from $3.90), and tea lattes (from $3.20) in more unique variations such as purple potato with pumpkin or yellow peach with oatmeal.

The drinks make for a nice little mid-day pick-me-up without the full weight of calories and, uh, coffee creamer. Should you pass by Raffles City, MuYoo’s basement stall is located on the same stretch as its competitor, KOI.

MuYoo is at #B1-67 Raffles City Shopping Centre, 252 North Bridge Rd. Daily 10am-10pm.
