Much-loved Mr Softee returns to two 7-Eleven outlets in Singapore

It’s been quite a while since people got excited over 7-Eleven, but we’d say the comeback of beloved soft serve ice cream Mr Softee is reason enough. The frozen treat, which pleased many a teenage palate back in the ’90s, came in three flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and chendol, the most popular one.

Sadly, Mr Softee vanished without a trace in the late 2000s and — despite fans bugging 7-Eleven to bring it back (although sometimes that method of relentless requesting works) — wasn’t seen for years… until now.

Returning to two 7-Eleven stores — although why only two, we have no idea — the childhood favorite can now be enjoyed in Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Panjang at Blk 689B Choa Chu Kang Drive and Blk 152A Gangsa Road. Granted, these places are a little out of the way for most of us, but hey, when you crave a cup of creamy soft serve, there shouldn’t be any limits to your determination.

Unfortunately, Mr Softee is only available in vanilla at $1.50 per cup for now, but here’s hoping the rest return soon. Stay tuned to 7-Eleven’s Facebook page for updates.
