After all that hype about Bali legend Naughty Nuri’s opening up shop in Singapore, the restaurant died a quiet death less than two years later, only to be replaced by a similar concept. Taking over the (mostly unchanged) space at Capitol Piazza, Monkey Warung is an Indonesian-owned eatery with a spotlight on Indonesian cuisine. And pork ribs, of course.

What sets it apart from its predecessor is its $29.90 weekend ribs buffet and its $5 bar bites and booze deals that go on daily till 7pm. You can get red or white wine, lychee or mango martinis, half pint beers on tap, or house pours with liquors like vodka, gin, tequila, bourbon, whiskey, and rum for $5 each — which is a pretty good deal, considering how expensive alcohol is in Singapore.

If you need to graze while you knock back the drinks, order a couple plates of spam fries, satay skewers, or goreng pisang (all $5 each) to snack on.

As for the 90-minute ribs buffet — available at lunch and dinner — the spread includes mains such as spare ribs, baby back ribs, chilli squid, ayam penyet, pork chop, and sausages, as well as carb staples like Indomie, nasi goreng, and rice. You can also fuel up on sides and appetizers like soto ayam soup, pig ears, satay skewers, mutton samosas, tahu goreng, and Indo fried drumlets, before ending the meal with brownies and cheesecakes for dessert.

Alternatively, to limit your calories, you can always go for the à la carte menu with kecap manis glazed ribs ($20/half rack, $36/full rack), tahu telor ($10), ayam penyet rice ($9), or Indomie goreng ($7).

Monkey Warung is at #01-84 Capitol Piazza, 15 Stamford Rd. Daily 11:30am-10:30pm.
