As an advocate of quality food at reasonable prices, 31-year-old Indonesian executive chef Michael Suyanto launched PORTA with the aim to establish his restaurant as the go-to place for a gourmet experience that’s easy on the wallet. The 12-year culinary veteran plans to provide a regularly updated menu that will provide patrons with seasonal flavours and fresh experiences through premium ingredients.

PORTA’s signature dishes include the likes of grilled spanish octopus ($18), roasted Iberian Pork Secreto ($26), the Porta Burger with Stanbroke Angus beef patty ($23) and Coconut Blancmange ($12).

The gourmet experience isn’t complete without lavish decor, and the restaurant delivers. Located at the ground floor of the hotel, the 243 sqm space seats 134 at its maximum operating capacity, with colonial influences and a variety of dining areas. The highlight remains to be PORTA’s Reading Room, a cosy corner for a quick drink or a tea break.
