McDonald’s middling Nasi Lemak burger somehow sells out; Eggcellent McSpicy and Dinosaur McFlurry to launch

Despite mixed reviews over McDonald’s Nasi Lemak burger, the contentious homage to the beloved Southeast Asian breakfast has apparently sold out islandwide — less than two weeks since its launch.

McDonald’s Singapore thanked the nation for its “overwhelming support” in helping the fast food chain sell out the limited edition items, which included the Chendol McFlurry and Bandung McFizz. Both were pretty underwhelming, in our opinion, so we went ahead and made our own.

Nonetheless, the McD’s announced that it now has two new items to make up for those who didn’t get a chance to try the National Day menu — but these are only available for a limited time. Behold: the Eggcellent McSpicy, which is simply a regular McSpicy with a fried egg in between buns — aka something McDonald’s food hackers have been doing for years. Then there’s the Dinosaur McFlurry, which honestly sounds like a totally delish treat (because heaps of Milo powder).

Also, to celebrate NS50, all National Servicemen past and present can enjoy a free apple pie or hot fudge sundae with every Extra Value Meal purchased from Aug 4 to Aug 10… so that’s something to look forward to during the rah-rah National Day period.
