Looks like the wait is over for llaollao addicts. The Spanish froyo brand — which got kicked out of our shores last year, only to stage a comeback soon after — returned over the weekend with the official opening of its first store at Changi Airport Terminal 2. And since it’s a 24-hour store at the public area of the airport, you can get your cravings satisfied anytime of the day (or night).

Naturally, some hardcore llaollao enthusiasts made it their mission to be one of the first few in line on Saturday morning, and their patience paid off — for the first five customers, at least, who were rewarded with six months’ worth of free Sanum, the brand’s sundae-like treat made with layered froyo, fresh fruit, and muesli.

And, more good news for East-sider froyo fans — llaollao is opening a second store at Tampines 1 by the end of the month. Fingers crossed that other outlets throughout the island are in the pipeline over the next few months, though.

The brand returns under new management, with local F&B company Manna as the operator and sub-franchisee of the airport store. It will also offer a loyalty card this time round, so loyal patrons can collect stamps and work towards redeeming a small tub of froyo.
