Anyone who follows Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race competition on TV would have heard of California-based The Lime Truck and its founder, chef Daniel Shemtob.
In 2011, the food truck came up tops on the second season of the show, gaining popularity around the United States and expanding its businesses to five food trucks across several cities as well as a brick-and-mortar restaurant in California.

Armed with all that, the brand’s coming to Singapore for its first venture outside the US. If you recall, it first popped up here for two days in 2014, dishing out more than 1,000 tacos in two hours.
Officially opening its doors on Aug 26, The Lime Truck’s Latin American-inspired menu offers a good selection of tacos, including the sweet and spicy steak ($4.60) served with soy ginger slaw and wontons, the braised pork belly ($4) with green pico and sambal, and the fried chicken ($4) with dijon slaw, house pickle and pickled mustard seed.

Chips and lime guacamole ($3.90) or chicken skins ($3.90) are also available for you to snack on, but if you’d like something more substantial, order the rice bowl ($9.90) served with green rice, pickled veggies, wontons and furikake. Alternatively, go for healthy options in the form of salad bowls ($9.90), which include tostada shells, leafy greens, avocado and corn pico.
The Lime Truck opens Aug 26 at PasarBella at Suntec City. Daily 10am-10pm.
