Salon de Royal Kyoto, a decades-old Japanese chocolatier cafe, is venturing abroad for the first time — and foodie haven Singapore is its first stop. But the cafe’s chocolates aren’t just any old regular sweets. These luxe creations have a shimmering gleam to them, and you can expect the typical Japanese attention to detail and quality in each piece.
If you’re keen on watching chef Hiroyuki Emori present a dessert demonstration, head over to Japan Food Town on Apr. 19 for a showdown between him and five patissiers from the cafe as they display their chocolate-making skills. Besides the chocolate bon bons and signature pecan nut chocolates that range from an affordable $12 to a splurge of $200, you can also get the Singapore exclusive pecan nut ice cream with a dash of kinako (soybean powder) stuffed into a Monaka wafer.
Salon de Royal Kyoto’s pop-up is on from now till the end of May at Japan Food Town, L4 Wisma Atria.
