Tom’s Palette, an ice cream cafe famous for unique gelato flavors, is reopening Saturday at 51 Middle Road.

Founded in 2005, the homegrown gelateria now has a 45-seater space, just a five-minute walk from its old location at Shaw Towers, which is undergoing redevelopment.

The parlor first garnered attention with eccentric, Asian-inspired flavors such as Salted Egg Yolk, Nasi Lemak, and Mango Sticky Rice.

Customers can choose from 15 flavors including signatures such as Granny’s Favourite, Ang Moh Carrot Cake and Root Beer Float. It’s offering several reopening specials including a S$51 deal for three tubs of gelato.

Over the next few months, it will gradually increase its offerings to 27 gelato flavors including Yuzu and Salted Caramel Cheesecake, as well as affogatos, “Teaffogatos,” parfaits, and Asian-inspired specialty teas curated by supplier Parchmen & Co.

The “Teaffogato” consists of a scoop of gelato on a brown sugar blondie and served with a shot of cold-brewed tea, and their Caramel Apple Tart is a parfait comprised of housemade Citrus Shortbread Crumble, Apple Pie Filling, Speculoos Caramel, and a scoop of Salted Caramel Cheesecake ice cream.
