On Orchard Road sits a little slice of green tea paradise: Maccha House. Besides matcha lattes, parfaits and ice creams, the cafe also serves up standard Japanese cuisine like bento boxes, soba bowls and hotpot sets. Plus, it offers regular monthly specials like maccha mille crepes, maccha azuki shibuya toast and maccha chocolate ball desserts.
But if you still haven’t tried any of that, perhaps it’s time to head down in March for the eatery’s (self-proclaimed) bestseller from its Kyoto flagship: Uji maccha tiramisu. Made with layers of matcha-soaked sponge cake, gooey mascarpone cheese and a generous dusting of Morihan matcha powder, the Insta-worthy item looks pretty damn good.
