For wines and champagnes at wallet-friendly prices, hit up new bistro/wine bar Ginett. The trendy-looking casual space offers all-day happy hour price tags for more than 15 varieties of grape therapy, so you can fuel up on post-work drinks from $6 per glass or $30 by the bottle. But if you’re feeling generous, splash out a little more for any of the 70 French wines on offer (prices start at $8/glass and $35/bottle).
Open for breakfast, the restaurant features a morning buffet spread and takeaway brekkie options. At lunch time, you can order a two-course set for $18 and chow down on salads, pastas or sandwiches (and desserts like the teh tarik tart).
For an evening feast, start off with freshly shucked Fine de Claire oysters and a platter of cold cuts, before you move on to charcoal grilled cuts of Aussie Angus beef, Kurobuta pork and organic lamb chops.
Brunch addicts will be happy to note that the space offers their favourite meal from 11am to 4pm on weekends — on the menu are dishes like sunny side up eggs with hash browns in slow-cooked duck gravy, mac and cheese with ham and gruyere, and organic rotisserie chicken.
Ginett is at 200 Middle Rd. Daily 6am-late.
