Aight, y’all been had. Sorry, health nuts, but KFC’s not jumping on the clean eating bandwagon — the original Zinger Double Down is indeed returning to our shores after a hiatus of three years. It’s got a new friend in tow too: the KFC Hawaiian Double Down, which comes with a pineapple slice and BBQ sauce.
We assure you once again — the Double Steam Chicken burger was indeed a marketing hoax. Yes, they intentionally got everyone proper riled up with an unappetizing image of a supposedly healthy version of the artery-clogging classic. Really though, with ingredients like sauerkraut coleslaw, pickles and sambal honey sauce in between steamed chicken fillets… who would hate themselves so much to go through the experience?
Props for the pretty funny prank, KFC. Fans will be able to indulge in the new Hawaiian Double Down (turkey bacon, cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce between deep fried Zinger fillets) or the original Zinger Double Down tomorrow when it launches at all outlets island-wide. Comes with tater tots KFC’s spicy potato bites too (not steamed, don’t worry).
