Food delivery services in Singapore are upping their game before UberEats comes to town

Looks like UberEats, a food delivery service by Uber, may make its way to our shores soon. And by soon, we mean most likely within the next month, according to The New Paper. At least ten F&B outlets have been approached by the service, which is already operating in 13 cities around the world.

To get ahead of the competition (and to snag the loyalty of existing customers), Foodpanda and Deliveroo are offering various promos. For Foodpanda, it’s free delivery service from now till May 22, as well as more options in the CBD area and heartland neighbourhoods like Sengkang and Hougang. New restaurants on board include Wine Connection, Potato Head Folk, Chotto Matte and Cafe Melba.

As for Deliveroo, they’re partnering with car booking service Grab. Anyone who travels with Grab can earn up to $40 worth of free credit on Deliveroo per week from now till Aug 7. All you gotta do is take on five or more trips each week either on GrabCar (Economy) or by using the Flash feature, a one-tap device on the Grab app that shows you the nearest available ride, whether it’s a cab or a car.

All the more reason to put on your lazy pants and stay in on weekend nights.
