Alert all your Tokyo-lovin’ buddies, ’cause Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory has just landed in Singapore. Officially opened last weekend, the famous Japanese brand is known for its cakes, cookies, and soft serves made with creamy Hokkaido milk that never ceases to amaze our taste buds (just check out Chateraise).
Settling in at a stall space in the basement of Raffles City, the shop is renowned for its popular salt and camembert cookies ($12.80/box of 10), which blend delectable savory and sweet flavors in each bite. Besides the signature item, you can also try the honey and gorgonzola, or porcini and gouda cookies.
As for cakes, there’s the milk cheesecake ($29.50/12cm) made with a crepe base and milk mousse, as well as the strawberry milk roll cake ($24/11cm) slathered with milk cream, strawberry cream, and strawberry jam.
If you want to sample a little of everything, get the Cow Cow Sundae ($8.50) — a cup of velvety smooth soft serve made with Jersey milk, cream cheese and gouda cheese from Hokkaido that’s given an extra touch with a slice of cheesecake and a cookie.
But as with all things new and trendy in our food-crazed city, beware the initial long lines and keep tabs on the brand’s Facebook page for updates on sold out items.
