This famous Hong Kong nitrogen ice cream lab is opening up shop in Singapore

Lab Made, the famous Hong Kong brand, is opening up shop in Singapore. Hailed as Asia’s first liquid nitrogen ice cream laboratory, the store uses -196°C liquid nitrogen technology to cool its ice cream, which is made free of additives, preservatives and colouring.

Although the technology is pretty gimmicky (and rather widespread in Singapore by now), it’s still pretty fascinating to watch. And Lab Made’s Hong Kong outlets switch up flavours every fortnight, so customers don’t get bored with options like mango and coconut rice, pandan cake with coconut and lemon meringue pie.

Some of the flavours to expect here include crunchy sea salt and caramel sauce, custard bun, Hong Kong French toast and Hong Kong beancurd dessert.

Seeing as how Lab Made has already garnered over 4,000 Facebook likes before its opening date and location has been announced, perhaps it’ll do better than fellow HK popsicle brand I See I See, which closed down its 313 @ Somerset outlet before a year was up.
