Famous egg tarts from Hong Kong’s Tai Cheong Bakery return for Takashimaya pop-up

Egg tarts are flying off the shelves at Tai Cheong Bakery’s second pop-up in Takashimaya’s basement food hall. Expect snaking queues and long waits, as people with unlimited time on their hands get in line for a chance to sample famous egg custard treats by the popular Hong Kong brand. As of now, you’ve got about a week to make your way to town (and while you’re at it, might as well queue for BAKE Cheese Tart in Ion Orchard before your patience runs out).

But if you’re the type who’d rather wait for the hype to die down, you’re in luck. The bakery will soon be opening up shop at a permanent space in Singapore. Keep an eye out for updates.

Tai Cheong Bakery’s egg tarts are available from now till May 17, 10am until sold out, at B2 Food Hall, Takashimaya Department Store, 391 Orchard Rd. $7.60/four.
