Party people, what are some of your craziest/weirdest/most magical memories of Zouk? Is it waiting in line to see your favourite DJ spin in Singapore for the first time? Or climbing up the podium to whip out your fabulous Mambo moves? Or downing three of the club’s famously potent Long Island Iced Teas and going around declaring that everyone’s your best friend in the whole wide world?
Whatever makes you tingle with nostalgia whenever you think of Zouk, digital photo exhibition ‘I Remember Jiak Kim’ wants you to pen it down. After years of chaotic crowds, countless shots and frenzied fist pumps, Zouk will soon be empty after it throws its last party this weekend and moves to Clarke Quay.
So to celebrate the Jiak Kim space, the site features 25 areas (in honour of Zouk’s 25 years) for you to share your favourite memories (be they wacky or wonderful). From the Velvet Underground Passageway to the Zouk Podium to the Phuture Bar and even the Hot Dog Stand, each location’s photo showcases Zouk in its raw state, minus all the shimmering spotlights, booze-fuelled crowds and banging beats we’re so accustomed to experiencing.

If you’re getting teary-eyed just thinking about the iconic nightlife spot no longer staking its claim on Jiak Kim, you can snuggle up in ‘I Remember’ tees that are available for pre-order at Zouk on Dec 2 and 3, 10pm-1am. (The first 50 pre-orders will get a pair of invites to the club’s opening at Clarke Quay — so you can be the first to compare the new Zouk to your fond memories).
