We definitely have no lack of international brands setting up shop in Singapore to appeal to our love for good food. But since we love new stuff, mark your calendars for Jan 5, ’cause that’s when popular Taiwanese bakery Kazo debuts on our shores. At Chinatown Point, to be specific.

Since it served up its first cream puff in 2014, the brand has fed many a hungry customer with its snacks. For $1.80, you too can take a bite out of the Hokkaido cream or chocolate cream puffs. Alternatively, you can try the cheese tarts ($3.20) to see if they rival Bake or Pablo in taste.

If you’re feeling indulgent, go for the Danish polo ($2.50-$5.50), which sandwiches salted egg, Hokkaido cream, or scoops of matcha/chocolate/Hokkaido milk ice cream in a flaky croissant. Otherwise, there’s always the Kazu Kazu, a fluffy, crunchy crust piped with chocolate or Hokkaido cream fillings.

Other items available at the store include something called Kazo Man — bottles of matcha latte and organic soya bean drinks in the shape of, er, a six-pack male physique, for some reason.

Kazo will open on Jan 5 at #01-30, ChinaTown Point, 133 North Bridge Rd.
