Colossal new emporium for Japanese cuisine opens its doors at Marina Square

A new emporium enters the Singapore market, and this one goes out to all who live and breathe Japanese cuisine.

No longer does Marina Square contain a mysterious section under veiled construction barriers — the shopping mall’s new wing is home to Emporium Shokuhin, a 34,000 sq ft space passionately dedicated to Japanese dining. Food blogger Daniel Ang says that it would take at least 5-10 minutes to walk through the whole establishment, such is the vast expanse of the place.

What ever is in store for you at Emporium Shokuhin? Think gourmet — live seafood specially imported from Japan and Europe, aged beef, an exclusive range of fruits and vegetables and even air-flown produce, according to The Straits Times.

The aspect of quality ingredients and unique items should stand as a differentiation from the rest of the Japanese emporium pack including the likes of Isetan and Meidi-Ya supermarkets.

If you want to go straight into the meat of things at Emporium Shokuhin, there’re eight new Japanese restaurants for you to have authentically epicurean feasts, including Takujo, where omakase meals start at $138 onwards.
