Sister outlet of The Disgruntled Chef, The Disgruntled Brasserie makes its debut at The Club, just in time to celebrate the hotel’s first anniversary. A casual version of its predecessor — with a revamped photo wall featuring images of local hawkers — the mod-European brasserie will feed you over breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner.

The no-frills all-day menu is packed with hearty dishes such as baked miso cod with mushy peas and waffle potato chips ($38), foie gras beef burger with ricotta and caramelised onions ($28), curried blue mussels with fried bread ($24) and snow crab angel hair pasta ($29).

For small plates to start with, there’s beet-cured salmon ($16), steak tartare with quail’s eggs ($18), pan-fried pork knuckle terrine ($12) and deviled eggs with snow crab and ikura ($8).

If you reckon those prices a tad too high for you, try the daily set menu, which offers options like chilled gazpacho, tuna carpaccio, roasted chicken, seafood marinara and vanilla panna cotta. It’s slightly more wallet-friendly at $28 for two courses and $32 for three.
Desserts here are rather standard offerings, such as sticky toffee pudding ($14), chocolate fondant with peanut butter ($16) and lemon tart brulee ($14).

Other items on the menu include sandwiches, waffles, pancakes, breakfast eggs, and a high tea set ($18/two people) that consists of items like Earl Grey orange cupcakes, scones and mini shepherd’s pies.
The Disgruntled Brasserie is at The Club, 28 Ann Siang Rd, 6808-2184. Daily 11.30am-2.30pm, 6.30pm-10.30pm.
