You know that chapter in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory where they describe the Chocolate Room? And how you wished beyond hope you’d get to see it one day?
We still have those days, but they’re numbered, because real-life Willy Wonka Barcelona pastry chef Christian Escriba, is bringing his dessert event to Singapore.
Touted as the world’s first confection theatre show, Fantasia by Escriba is a four-hour event lasting Jun. 27 — 29 at the Marina Bay Sands, which combines sweets with theatre.
The venue spanning two football fields will consist of eight themed pavilions made up edible props and backdrops (see their concept design below for an idea).

You’ll see full-scale animal models such as elephants and giraffes — yup, all made out of candy — and a six-metre-tall waterfall with liquid chocolate cascading into a lake (!!!).
And that’s not all — Escriba will also have The Comediants, a collective of actors, artists and musicians, performing throughout the event.
Visitors will also get to taste signature sweet and savoury Escriba foods in a special showcase.
