Cheesy name, cheesy menu: Bojio Cafe serves up raclette cheese toast among other desserts

Here’s a dessert spot that really loves Singlish: Bojio Cafe (bo jio is a Hokkien term that means to not invite someone to an event or activity). Sister outlet to toast/ice cream joint Meet & Melt at Tampines, the menu’s pretty similar — the eatery brings ice cream and Shibuya toasts to the west.

Sure, we’ve all seen the never-ending scroll of oozing lava toasts, over-the-top milkshakes and raclette cheese videos on social media, but this cafe rounds them up and tosses them on one menu together. Guess that makes it easier for you to eat it all in one place.

Toasty highlights include gooey raclette cheese scraped onto a humongous slice of toast paired with a scoop of ice cream ($18.90), mentaiko mayo lava toast drizzled with mentaiko sauce ($17.90) and scorched for a charred, smoky flavor, and charcoal lava toast with ‘cookie monster sauce’ ($16.90) that’s basically white chocolate with blue dye.

It’s all very Instagrammable — because that seems to be the only thing that matters these days — but if you’re just looking for somewhere to satisfy your sugar cravings, the cafe also offers a selection of waffles and lava toasts in quite a few other flavors such as Thai milk tea, Earl Grey, peanut butter, green milk tea and salted egg.

Bojio Cafe is at #02-28 Westgate, 8742-1688. Sun-Thurs 11.30am-9.30pm, Fri-Sat 11.30am-10pm.
