Made a New Year resolution to stop throwing back cocktails every weekend? Maybe this piece of news will persuade you to abandon your resolve. British gastropub Oxwell & Co has debuted its Dry GINuary menu this month to serve up gin and tonics that you can customise to your liking.
You’ve got a choice of 24 different gins — including the likes of Paper Lantern ($18), Saffron Gin ($18), Beefeater ($14) and Botanist ($16) — to pair with Schweppes Indian Tonic, or you can top up $1 and pick from a selection of Eramus Bond, Fever Tree and East Imperial tonics. Then garnish your drink with botanicals such as thyme, lime peel, curry leaf or tarragon picked from the bar’s rooftop garden.
The menu also offers pairings for the undecided, including suggestions like Plymouth Navy Gin with East Imperial Burma Tonic, thyme and lime peel ($18) or Gin Mare with Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic, basil and lemon ($19).
