If you’re ever in the Sentosa area and you want something even quieter and more secluded than Quayside Isle, drive over (or walk across the bridge) to Keppel Island, where Privé Keppel Bay and Bayswater Kitchen are nestled. Popular among expats, the restaurants offer scenic glimpses into how the other half lives — with lines of sleek yachts and cushy condos in the distance.

At Bayswater Kitchen, Sunday brunches are a lively, family-friendly affair, where the vibes are chill, the breezes are cool, the jazzy melodies come from an acoustic live band, and the menus are stocked with seafood dishes. You may or may not run into a boisterous bunch of kids every now and then, but the eatery has plenty of space for everyone — with views of the marina that could make you forget you’re in Singapore for a second.

To start, order a refreshing jug of Pimm’s lemonade and sip on the zesty concoction as you peruse the menu. Lighter bites include soft shell crab benedict ($26), grilled prawn and calamari salad ($26), and lobster and prawn brioche roll ($38).

But if your Sunday brunch won’t feel complete unless you’re tucking into a quintessentially English Sunday roast, order the ribeye beef ($45) or even the free-roaming chicken ($36) that come served with Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, roasted potatoes, bacon and cabbage, peas, carrots, and a dollop of gravy.

For the seafood fans, the Fisherman’s Potluck ($60/person) is a hearty bounty of lobster, prawns, squid, mussels, clams, fish, potatoes, and sweet corn. But just be warned that you could quite possibly sink into a food coma after all that indulgence.

To work off some of the food, head over to the recreational room for a game or two of ping pong or foosball.

Sunday Brunch by the Bay is on every Sunday at Bayswater Kitchen from 11:30am-5pm.
