Come together to cook and eat curry — that’s the basic premise of The Curry Project, an edible art experience by Brunch Bandits, Post-Museum and Foodscape Collective. You’ll get to participate in the communal cooking sesh to make traditional vegetarian South Indian thali using veggies from community gardens and local urban farms, before sitting down to partake of your banana leaf plate and chat with other guests.
Alternatively, you can bring your own home-cooked food to join the potluck for free — dishes have to be big enough for 20 portions and can be influenced by any culture or heritage. Two seatings are available for the volunteer-led activity, and there’ll be a home brew bar and open mic DJ party afterwards, where anyone can bring their own kombucha, beer or coffee, and set the mood for the evening with their soundtrack.
The Curry Project is on Sept 23, 7pm-10pm at The Substation, 45 Armenian St. $16.50.
